Legal Tech Lawyers Angered by Timing of Arab Unrest

Lawyers involved in legal technology issues are directing their anger toward Egyptian protesters, saying the unrest in Cairo and other cities has interfered with the “engagement buzz” they are trying to generate for a conference next week in New York. A Twitter reporting service raised the attentionometrics on the issue to “escalated,” meaning it is of significant concern to tweeting lawyers who are attending Legal Technology New York, which starts Monday at the New York Hilton.

“It #sucks, IYAM.” one lawyer planning to attend the conference said in a series of tweets. “I was pumped about #LTNY and #SEO #optimization in my #lawpractice. Now this Egyptian thing gets all the #buzz. Somebody should do something. NOW. Isn’t @presidentbush doing something about it? I’m honked.”

Though somewhat unrelated, a separate Twitter reporting service also released statistics showing that tweeting social media consultants and law marketing specialists were surprised to learn Egypt is in the Middle East and that the country does not have government offices in desert pyramids.
